David J. Tinker Sr., 74, of Pleasant Point and Perry, peacefully departed this life on Saturday, November 30, 2024, surrounded by the warmth and love of his family at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. David was born on August 23, 1950, in Eastport to Elmer Francis and Mary Francis Tinker. David cherished his roots and embraced life with a spirit that touched all who knew him.
A devoted family man, David found joy in gathering with loved ones and created countless memories that will be cherished forever. His passions included hunting and working on vehicles, pursuits that allowed him to connect with nature and share his enthusiasm with others. An adventurous soul in his younger years, he took great pride in racing cars, and his love for collecting guns reflected his appreciation for craftsmanship. As a proud Passamaquoddy , David carried his heritage with dignity.
He was predeceased by his beloved son, David Jr.; brothers Harry, Christopher, Thomas, and Alexander; nephew Tom Tom; and cherished in-laws Linda, Jane, Margaret, Bea, Irene, and Pat.
His legacy lives on in the hearts of his loving wife of 45 years, Karen Tinker; daughter Lynn Page of Calais; and grandsons Johnathan Tinker of Georgia and Liam Page of Calais, who were his pride and joy. He is also survived by daughter-in-law Carolyn Tinker of Georgia; son-in-law Josh Page of Calais; and siblings Norman of Lewiston, John of Pleasant Point, Lila of Florida, and Phyllis of Pleasant Point. David had a strong bond with his in-laws Lorraine and Dennis Kinney of Perry, Gloria VonAtzingen of New Jersey, and Vivian Tinker of New Hampshire, as well as his special Godchildren, Harry Tinker Jr. of Wells, Sam Newell of Princeton, Leona Downing of Old Town, Natasha Ortiz of Florida, and Rita Tinker of New Hampshire. He treasured his many nieces, nephews, and close friends, including Dwight and Arleen Grant, Tony Candelmo, and Darlene McConnell.
Visitation to celebrate David's life will take place on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Community Center on Koluskap Road in Pleasant Point, followed by a Celebration of Life at 1 p.m. Arrangements are being handled by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
