Darren Asher Laney, 37, passed away unexpectedly on March 22, 2024.  Darren was born in Nashua, New Hampshire, on May 9, 1986, son of Darren B. Laney and Lisa Corbett.  

Darren recently turned to God for spiritual guidance and became involved in many church activities, getting baptized 2 days before his passing.  Anybody who grew up with Darren knew he was a kind, lovable person with a contagious smile.  He enjoyed being outdoors and riding dirt bikes.  He always had a love for animals, especially his canine companion Bentley.

Darren was predeceased by his father, Darren B. Laney; grandparents Harold and Carine Harvey; Godfather Kenny McDowell; aunt Vicki Laney; and cousins Tad Ward and James Kneeland.

Darren is survived by his mother, Lisa Corbett; his son Asher Bishop; brother Dustin Laney and wife Kristina; his niece Alex Laney; grandmother Evelyn Corbett; grandfather Richard Corbett and wife Diana; aunts and uncles, Tammy and Ed Ward, Linda and Jimmy Brown, Cindy and Brent Bailey, Richey Corbett, Renee Pulk; Paulette and Larry Howard; Don and Tiny Laney, and Sue Wheaton; special “in-laws” Bonnie and John Bishop; and many cousins and friends.

A Celebration of Darren’s Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, April 6, 2024, at the Sunrise Christian Church, Big Lake Rd., Big Lake Township.   Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
