Obituary

Daniel Richard (Ricky) Moses, age 74, went to be with his wife and parents in heaven, on Thursday, December 5, 2024, at Marshalls Healthcare Facility in Machias, Maine. On June 9, 1950, Ricky was born, and soon after adopted by the late Revered Joseph Moses and Frances (Willey) Moses, formerly of Blacks Harbour, New Brunswick, and Calais, Maine.

Ricky graduated from Fort Fairfield High School in 1970. At this time, he met the love of his life, Anna Cote (Moses), at the Riverside Bible Camp in the Spring of 1970. Soon following, they married on August 22, 1970.

Ricky worked lifelong careers at Thomas DiCenzo Inc., Donald L. Newman Trucking, David Lee Construction, and Downeast/H&H Disposal. Ricky continued telling stories right up until his passing about working for Tommy DiCenzo – who he thought so much of.

During the early and mid-1990’s, he owned and drove the sponsored J&L Variety Racing Team #86 stock car, better known throughout the community as “Holy Moses!”. Ricky loved racing and entertained many locals at Cedar Mills Speedway in Moores Mills, N.B.

Another favorite pass time was driving around town, visiting the North Street Irving, and parking at the local bank and shopping center watching the traffic pass. Ricky enjoyed telling stories about his beloved father, mother, and Gramp Willey.

Ricky is survived by his three children, Daniel Moses Jr. (Brandy) of Calais, ME, Danette (Moses) Talbot (Timothy) of Tamworth, NH, and St. Petersburgh, FL, and Joseph Moses (Kimberly) of Calais, ME; grandchildren, Kayleb Moses (Cheyenne) of Baileyville, ME, Jadyn (Moses) McCarthy (Bradley) of St. Stephen, N.B., Ryan Moses of Calais, ME, Jacob Moses of Calais, ME, Abigail Moses of Calais, ME; his great-grandson Landon Moses of Baileyville, ME; and his dear friend Fred Rayner of Baileyville, ME. Anna, Ricky's wife of 51 years, passed away before him.

Ricky is survived by his brother and sister, David Moses and companion Nancy of Englewood, Florida, and Debbie (Moses) Hapeman (Doug) of Davenport, Florida; two brothers-in-law, Steven Cote of Perth-Andover, New Brunswick, and David Cote of Centreville, New Brunswick.

Ricky's family would like to thank his care providers at Wellmore Point in Calais, and Marshals Healthcare Facility in Machias. Each facility provided exceptional love and care for him.

In keeping with Ricky’s wishes there will be no funeral services. Arrangements are by Mays Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
