Obituary

With profound sadness, we announce the passing of Craig D. Worster, a bright beacon of life, courage, and compassion. Born on July 21, 1977, in Calais, Maine, to Daniel and Debra Worster, Craig transitioned from this life on May 4th, 2024, at the age of 46, after a brave and extended battle with colon cancer. A man of many passions and talents, Craig's zest for life was contagious, and his legacy will continue to inspire all who had the privilege to know him. Craig's youth was marked by athletic prowess and academic excellence. He excelled in basketball and tennis, and his competitive spirit was admired by many. After graduating from Calais High School in 1995, Craig attended Husson University in Bangor, pursuing a degree in Business. Upon graduation, he embarked on a successful 23-year career in nursing home finance. His work took him across the country, living in New Hampshire, Florida, North Carolina, and eventually settling in Texas. Despite his nomadic lifestyle, Craig never lost his love for his home state of Maine. An avid collector, Craig was known among his friends as a 'sneakerhead,' amassing a collection of over 100 pairs of unique and stylish sneakers. His appreciation for old cars hinted at a nostalgic soul, while his love for fishing reflected his calm and patient nature. However, nothing compared to the love Craig had for his dogs, Lou Dog and Cooper. To Craig, they were not just pets but cherished family members. Craig was preceded in death by his loving grandparents, Osman and Edith Worster, and F. Cecil and Jean Boyd. He is survived by his parents, Daniel and Debra Worster, his sister, Amanda (Mandie) Hall, her husband Matthew (Matt), and their daughter Isabella (Bella). His memory will also be cherished by numerous uncles, aunts, and cousins, whose lives he touched in countless ways. A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 23, 2025, at Calais Cemetery. Donations in Craig's memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, or your local animal shelter. Arrangements are entrusted to Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services. We invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos of Craig on his memorial page at www.MaysFuneralHome.com. Your contributions will serve as a comforting reminder of Craig's unique spirit, and the joy he brought into our lives.
