Constance Audrey Giannetto, known affectionately to all as Connie, left this world on March 13, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion, and service. Connie was born in St. Stephen, New Brunswick, on June 19, 1946.
Connie's education and career were a testament to her unwavering dedication to healthcare and helping others. A proud graduate of Woodland High School, Class of 1964, and Eastern Maine General Hospital Nursing School, Class of 1967, she began her nursing journey at St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston. Her path took her through Franklin Memorial Hospital, Calais Regional Hospital, and several nursing homes across the state. At the time of her retirement, she was serving selflessly as the Charge Nurse at Victoria Villa in Canton.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Connie was a woman of faith, a gifted artist, and a community leader. A devoted Communicant of St. James the Greater, she served her church as a Lector and a Eucharistic Minister. Her artistic talents shone through in her acrylic and oil paintings and her handmade jewelry. As President of the American Legion Auxiliary Unit #23 in Baileyville, she was an active and passionate contributor to her community. Yet, Connie's most cherished role was that of a grandmother and great-grandmother.
Connie is survived by her loving husband, Ronald Giannetto; her children, Lawrence Cox and wife Cheryl, and Amy Headley and husband Jason; grandchildren, Aaron Libby and wife Lexy, Kalee Libby, and Steven and Christopher Cox; and great-grandchildren, Paityn Jackson, and Kynslee and Blakelyn Libby. She also leaves behind several brothers and sisters, and a host of nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched deeply by her love and kindness. Connie was predeceased by her parents, Lawrence and Charlene (Scott) Perkins.
