Clifford Devoe, 73, passed away on December 27, 2024 at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Born in Mars Hill on January 19, 1951, to parents Alfred and Mary (Socoby) Devoe, Clifford's life was a testament to resilience, determination, and love. His story weaved a rich tapestry of courage, service, and dedication that continues to inspire those who knew him. Clifford's journey took him from the humble beginnings of Mars Hill to the tumultuous landscapes of Vietnam, where he served as a combat scout in the U.S. Marine Corps. Despite the challenging terrains, Clifford returned stronger and more determined to make a difference. He found his calling in public service, initially working as a police officer for both Indian Township and Pleasant Point, and later as a firefighter for Indian Township Fire Department and EMS. His dedication to service was parallel only to his love for fishing, antiquing, and most importantly, spending quality time with his two sons. Despite the loss of his siblings Alfred, Lewey, Rose, Diane, Annie, Annette, and Elizabeth, Clifford's spirit remained unwavering. His legacy continues through his sons, Clifford Devoe Jr. and Adam Devoe, both of Indian Township, his sister Paula Paul of Kingsclear, NB, and numerous nieces and nephews who will forever carry his memories in their hearts. Visitation will begin 11 a.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at 3 Owl Lane, Indian Township. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Roland Berngeh 11 a.m. Monday, January 6, 2025, at St. Ann Church, Peter Dana Point. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
