Obituary

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cindy Rockwell Roussel, a woman whose warmth, laughter, and boundless love touched all who knew her. Cindy lived in Oakfield, ME all of her life, where she was a CNA, until she moved to Waite, where she met the love of her life of 32 years, Darcy Roussel. Cindy then moved to Princeton where she became a stay-at-home mom, among many other volunteer and community related roles. Cindy had a rare gift — the ability to make everyone feel like family. Her heart of gold knew no limits. Whether you were a lifelong friend or someone she'd just met, she would give without hesitation and love without condition. To Cindy, everyone close to her was considered her own. Her greatest joys in life came from the simplest pleasures: spending time with children, especially her grandchildren, where her nurturing spirit truly shined, making people laugh with her quick wit and sense of humor, and being out in nature—especially when it involved hunting, fishing, or taking long rides down quiet dirt roads. Cindy also had a special love for pigs, collecting them with joyful affection that always brought a smile to her face. She is survived by her devoted husband, Darcy, and her faithful sidekick, Moose. Cindy was a proud and loving mother to Fay Bailey and Fran Roussel, and cherished grandmother to Emma, Meghan, and Nolan. She is also survived by her sisters Patti, Jenny, and Debbie, and brothers Jerry and Doug along with their families. Cindy was predeceased by her mom Joanne, her Grammy Grunt (Vivianne), and her Pooh Bear (Levite). Cindy is also predeceased by her brother Bobo and sister Tammy, but is survived by their beloved families. Cindy's love extended far beyond her immediate family—she leaves behind brothers and sisters-in-law, cousins, nieces and nephews, and many adopted sons, daughters, nieces and nephews, and dearest friends who stood by her side through every chapter of life. Her circle was large, loyal, and full of love. Cindy's legacy of compassion, unconditional love, strength, and humor will continue to live on in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered. Visitation will be held 2 – 4 p.m. Friday, July 18, 2025, at the Princeton Rod & Gun Club, Greenland Point Road, Princeton, where a Celebration of Life will follow with a spaghetti dinner. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services. We invite everyone who knew Cindy to share their memories, stories, and photos on her memorial page at www.MaysFuneralHome.com.
