Chris Sabry Thornton

Princeton – Chris Sabry Thornton, 52, passed away from complications of COVID on Saturday, October 30, 2021, surrounded by family at Northern Light Eastern Maine Medical Center in Bangor. Chris was born in Calais on March 24, 1969, son of Beverly Johnson and the late Orland Thornton.

Chris was the light in the room and wherever he went, happiness followed. Chris loved and when he did, he loved with all his heart. He would give the shirt off his back to help anyone in need. Chris served as a Selectman for the Town of Princeton, was a dedicated worker at Woodland Pulp LLC, and a member of Union Local #27. Chris loved his family, friends, and his community so much, and will be missed by so many.

In addition to his father Orland, Chris was predeceased by a sister Jouette Fullerton; and a brother Glen Thornton. Chris leaves behind the love of his life and soulmate, Laurie Thornton; his mother Beverly Johnson; his children, Kelsey Burtt, Felicia Thornton, Chris Thornton II, and stepchildren, Joshua Norris, Robert Norris III, Brandon Tomah, Dan Francis, and Jared Tomah; adoring Papa to Larrea, Mya, Denali, Austin, Connor and Sabreigh; many siblings that will miss his amazing smile and infectious laugh, Cindy Eldridge, Janeen McLaughlin, Billy Joe Thornton, Dean Thornton, Tim Thornton, Alan Melanson, Sandy Melanson, Becky Thornton, and Dena Melanson; special friends in his life were Darryl Wentworth, Jay Willett, and Mike Hoffsess; along with many many more.

A graveside service will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021, at the Princeton Cemetery on West Street in Princeton. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
