HANCOCK – It is with great sadness that the family of Chris J. Mullen, 57, of Waterville announces his passing on October 2, 2022, due to a short illness. He was born in Portland on November 20, 1964. Chris has left us to rest with his beloved parents, Jimmy and Shirley (Foran) Mullen.
Chris graduated from Shead High School, Class of 1983. He had many heart-felt qualities and worked mostly in the restaurant business and did many odd jobs. He loved his nieces and nephews. He loved sports, and to this day, Chris said Bill Buckner cost him a life’s savings back in ’86! He was an avid Patriots fan. Chris was always proud to watch and brag about his siblings playing sports. Chris earned the nickname “Gruger.” In his younger years, he was the life of the party, per se. He took pride in helping and mentoring his friends who needed help in AA and NA.
He is survived by his sister, Jennifer Patterson and husband Robert; brothers, Bobby Mullen, Brian Mullen and former wife Juanita, Jon Mullen and his wife Kristin; nieces, Megan Patterson, Vanessa Geel and husband Adam and Sarah Allen and husband Sam and Amber; nephews, Garrett Mullen, River Mullen, Ryan Mullen and Cameron; great-nephew, Gavin Geel; and great-niece, Ellouise Allen; one uncle, Larry Mullen; aunts, Mary Doherty and Gloria Mullen; and stepmother, Thelma Mullen; many cousins and great friends.
A graveside service will be held at a later date at the convenience of the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in his memory to the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home, 23 Boynton St., Eastport, ME 04631.
Arrangements are under the direction and care of Dan and Scott’s Cremation and Funeral Service, 445 Waterville Road, Skowhegan, ME 04976.
