Obituary

Charles James "Jim" "Jimmy" Walls, a man who embraced life with vigor, laughter, and a love for the outdoors, passed away unexpectedly, on March 4, 2025, at the age of 67. Born on June 9, 1957, in Franklin, Massachusetts, Jim was the beloved son of Charles and Doris (Duncan) Walls. He was a man of resilience and an unforgettable sense of humor. His stories, often punctuated by his hilarious wit, will be remembered by all who knew him. Jim was proud of his roots in Franklin, where he played football for Franklin High School. His spirit of service led him to enlist in the U.S. Army after graduation. His journey took him across the country, from California to Florida, and Cape Cod, before finally settling in Pembroke, Maine. Here, he co-owned and operated Black Bear Security with his business partner, William Mercer. Always believing in the importance of security, Jim worked tirelessly to make his corner of the world safer. His love for his work was only matched by his love for the outdoors. He took immense joy in living on the waterfront, reveling in the tranquility of nature, the beauty of sunrises and sunsets, and the satisfaction of working on his property. A lover of good food, Jim's lobster and steak dishes were the highlight of any gathering he hosted. Despite his passing, Jim's legacy of laughter, love for nature, and commitment to service continues to live on. He is survived by his sisters, Judy (Walls) Legee of Mashpee, MA, Virginia (Walls) Bruneli of Sandwich, MA, and Jacqueline (Walls) Carlson of Huger, SC; and his nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Doris Walls; and his brothers, John Walls of Winchester, MA, and Jeffrey Walls of Franklin, MA. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services. We invite you to share your memories, stories, and photos of Jim on his memorial page at www.MaysFuneralHome.com. Your shared experiences will serve as a testament to the life Jim lived, and the joy he brought to us all.
