Obituary for Charles Kenneth Scott

Calais and Kissimmee, Fla. – Charles Kenneth Scott, 84, a resident of Kissimmee, FL for more than 50 years, passed away January 26, 2006 at Florida Hospital in Kissimmee, FL. Charles was born October 30, 1921, in Calais, a son of Jerry and Alice (Lawler) Scott and was a graduate of Calais Academy. Prior to moving to Florida, he was employed by Stewart’s Furniture Store and local movie theaters in the Calais area. Charles was a member of the St. Croix #46 A.F. & A.M. Masonic Lodge. He was employed by Martin Marietta in Orlando for many years, retiring in 1986. Charles was a U.S. Army World War II veteran, serving in England, participating in D-Day, and the campaigns in France, Belgium, and Germany. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by sisters, Evelyn Sgritta, Elizabeth Clark, and Mary Mahar. He is survived by his nieces, Joyce St. Pierre of Brunswick and Marilyn Rowe of Freeport; nephews Harley Clark Jr. of Calais and Tom Sgritta of Mooresville, N.C. Special recognition and gratitude for care and compassion during his illness is extended to Kay Clark of Pearl, Miss. and Helen Beatty of Kissimmee, FL. A graveside service will be held 2 p.m. Saturday, June 24 at Calais Cemetery with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating.
