Obituary

Charles E. Russell, better known as "Charlie," to all who knew him, has embarked on his final adventure. Born on January 9th, 1956 in St. Stephen, NB, Canada, Charlie made the world a brighter place with his easy-going nature and infectious smile until December 20th, 2025. Charlie was a man of simple pleasures. An avid treasure hunter, he spent countless hours walking the banks of the Saint Croix River with his best friend, Tony Wallace. Together, they found joy in the simple act of discovering glass bottles and other hidden gems. Charlie's love for nature was apparent in his dedication to the areas of nature he adored. He cherished the world around him and encouraged others to do the same. His zest for life was greatly enhanced by his lifelong friendship with pal, Tony, and Tony's daughter, Deni Wallace. Deni was "his girl," a daughter in all but name, and their bond was a testament to Charlie's capacity for love and friendship. For four years, Charlie proudly served his country with the United States Marine Corps, and for many years he worked diligently for the city of Calais Cemetery department. Survived by his sisters Darlene Bohanon (Neal), Jeannine Marshall (Dennis), Brother Steven Russell (Patty), and Sister-in-law Rose, as well as several nieces and nephews, Charlie was a beacon of positivity. Even in his absence, his legacy lives on in the hearts of those who knew him. He is predeceased by his father, Charles Russell Sr., his step-father, Arthur Brown, mother, Ruth Russell-Brown, brother, Thomas Russell, and his best friend, Tony Wallace. Charlie's calm demeanor and refusal to let life's worries get him down served as a reminder to cherish the simple moments and find joy in the world around us.
