Carolyn B. Haddon, 87, was born on September 3, 1937. She lived a life filled with purpose, tenacity, and an unwavering devotion to those she held dear. On February 27, 2025, Carolyn peacefully left this world, leaving behind a legacy of compassion and resilience. Carolyn spent her professional years working as a dedicated secretary for various insurance companies throughout Hartford. Her diligent work ethic was matched only by her heart for service, a quality she displayed brilliantly in her volunteer work at the Hartford School for the Blind. It was here that she met her first husband Albert, and later Percy, both of whom she lovingly cared for. In her personal time, Carolyn discovered joy in the quiet challenge of jigsaw puzzles, the thrill of game nights, the escapism of a good book, and the wonder of learning about different cultures. She was a woman of character, feisty yet reserved, who lived life on her own terms. Her memory will be cherished by her nieces, nephews, and extended family in Connecticut, as well as her dear friend Batya Zamir-Van Buren. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents and brother. Her community in Eastport, Maine, where she resided, will remember her fondly, especially the local students who brought her joy with their holiday cards, each of which she treasured. She was also deeply appreciated by the staff of Eastport Memorial Nursing Home, who provided her with love and excellent care in her final years. In line with Carolyn's wishes, there will be no services. Arrangements are being handled by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services. Carolyn's life was a tapestry of quiet strength, selfless service, and enduring love. Her story will continue to inspire all who were privileged to know her.
