Calais - Bruce Pierce, 63, passed away unexpectedly due to an automobile accident, Wednesday, July 28th, 2021. Bruce was born in Wilmington, Delaware, August 5th, 1957, son of JoAnn (Ayers) Pierce and George and Marilyn Pierce.
Bruce graduated from Woodland High School, class of 1975, where he will be remembered for his basketball skills. After high school he moved to Greenville, South Carolina to spend time with his mother and family. Eventually returning back to Calais. Bruce’s passion was volunteering and helping others. He spent countless hours delivering for Meals on Wheels, taking care of the animals at Paws, and helping others in their recovery. In his spare time he loved spending time with his family. He adored his nieces and great nieces and nephews who called him Uncle Roo. Bruce could always be found cheering on the sidelines of the local schools sporting events.
Bruce was predeceased by his faithful companion, Rambo. His mother, father and stepmother, and younger brother, George (Whitty) Pierce III. He will be lovingly remembered by his brother, David Pierce of Florida, sister Lynn (Jim) Howard of Meddybemps, nieces Heather (Darrin) Hamilton of Baileyville, Amber (Brett) Royal of Florida, Jennifer (Josh) Thornton of Calais, and Bridgett Pierce of Florida, great nieces and nephews Benjamin, Sadye, Tova, Kaylin, Brayden, Bayleigh, Nathan, Makenna, Xander, and Kullen, great, great niece Kennedy, his feline companion Smokey, and his church families at Second Baptist Church and Calvary Chapel St. Croix Valley.
A celebration of Bruce’s life will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, July 31st at Second Baptist Church, 21 Church Street, Calais with Pastor Matt Burden and Pastor Justin Harvey officiating.
