Betty Lou Niles 68, passed away unexpectedly on December 29, 2024, at her home surrounded by family. She was born February 12, 1956, in Calais. She was the daughter of Kathleen Prout and Roger Davis who are no longer with us. Betty Lou was predeceased by her beloved son Dana II, her sisters Sharon Bonness and Lynn Marie Roderick Brother Keith Prout her nephews Jesse Robichaud and Chad Roderick her niece Christina Dunphy and mother-in-law Janet Niles Betty Lou is survived by her devoted husband of 50 plus years Dana Niles whom she married October 20, 1974. Together they built a life full of love, laughter and cherished memories. Betty Lou was survived by her daughter Tonya Johnson her sister Candace Robichaud her sisters-in-law Brenda (Chris) Carpenter and Debbie (Joel) Demmons her brother in laws Mike (Justina) Niles, Kenny (Lois) Niles and grandchildren Austin (Josey) Niles, Parra Johnson, Taaliyah Johnson and Dana Niles III. Betty Lou was blessed with three great-grandchildren Katherine and Alicia Niles and Tariq Watson. Betty Lou also leaves behind many loving nieces and nephews who all held a special place in her heart. Lifelong friends Sandra (Russell) Apt held a significant place in her life. She was a dedicated member of the Church of Open Bible which she developed a meaningful and lasting love for God and her church family. After over seven years of service as a cook at Indian Township School Betty Lou retired alongside her husband. Together they embarked on adventures with their family creating memories that will be treasured forever. Betty Lou was a warm and loving woman who lit up every room she entered. Her kindness, unconditional love and selfless nature made her wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt and friend. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to have known her. So do not fear, for I am with you do not be dismayed for I am with your God. I will strengthen you and help; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand Isaiah 41:10 A Celebration of Betty's Life will be held 2:00 p.m. Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Burial will take place in the Alexander Cemetery in the spring.
