Indian Township – Bernard Michael “Fernald” Stevens, 80, passed away on June 11, 2018 surrounded by his family at Calais Regional Hospital after a brief illness. He was born at Peter Dana Point on January 15, 1938, son of Frank and Lillian (Tomah) Stevens. Bernard worked several jobs including as a substance abuse counselor.
Bernard was predeceased by his parents; his wife Mary Verna Stevens; brothers, Norman, Carroll and Lenny and his sisters Ruth, Barbara and Alice.
He will be sadly missed by his brother Gene Stevens; cousins, Belinda Newell of Indian Township, Dennis Tomah Jr. and his wife Bette of Baileyville, Jeffrey Tomah and his wife Dawn, Nora and Dana Deschaine; his dear friend, Diana Tomah; Godchild, Rosalie Stevens, all of Indian Township and many other relatives and friends.
The family would like to thank nurse Beth Boomer and Dr. Elizabeth Eliacin for the excellent care given to Bernard and his family at Calais Regional Hospital.
Visitation will be held 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 13th until 9:30 a.m., Thursday, 6 U Road, Indian Township. A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 14th at St. Anne’s RC Church, Peter Dana Point. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.
