Obituary

Beatrice Helen Bailey went to be with her Lord and Savior Saturday morning, January 25th, at the age of 92. She had her two daughters by her side when she took the Lord's hand. Beatrice was born August 31st, 1932, to Hugh and Anna Monaghan of Milltown, Calais, ME. She graduated from Calais Memorial High School and completed one year of college at Holy Rosary Business school in St Stephen New Brunswick. She is predeceased by her son Robert Bailey of Grand Lake Stream, sister Eleanor LaBare of Maryland, and brother Jimmy Monaghan of Milltown, Calais, ME. Beatrice leaves behind her daughter Catherine Gardner and her husband David, and their three children; Alison Gardner and her partner Travis Cilley and their sons (great-grandchildren) Gunner and Mathew of Waite, ME; Sarah Gardner and two great grandchildren, Toni and John Gagner of Princeton, ME; David Gardner and daughter (great grandchild) Genevieve of Princeton; daughter Carrie Cilley, her daughter Shelby Cilley and her two great grandchildren, Avry and Dominic of Princeton, grandson Kyle Bailey and wife Jacklyn Bailey along with their son (great grandchild) Lincoln of Pittsfield, ME; and many nieces and nephews. Our mother had accepted the Lord Jesus as her savior as a young woman and has been a strong and faithful Christian all her life. Her life was filled with many experiences from owning and taking care of Bailey's Housekeeping Camps with her husband Earl Bailey; after this time in her life was over, she was the head cook at Lake Region Headstart for many years. When she retired, she enjoyed her large family which included many close cousins and friends. She loved to get together and play cards and the last few years she enjoyed bingo at Union Village assisted living where she resided for 5 years. A special mention of thanks to Kelly, Maggie and Geoffrey that are part of the loving staff at Union Village and her dedicated PCP Phylicia Bonavida at St. Croix Family Health Center. Honorable mention to Hospice care, who gave so much of their time to help mom be safe and comfortable. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00 P.M., Saturday, February 1, 2025, at the Princeton Community Church, 62 Main St, Princeton, ME. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Croix Family Health Center, Princeton, ME and Community Health and Counseling, Machias, ME. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
