Obituary

Barbara A. Bean March 16, 1942 – September 25, 2025 Barbara A. Bean, 83, passed away peacefully on Thursday, September 25, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on March 16, 1942, the daughter of Robert Clement of Eastport, Maine, and Marion Ackley of Cutler, Maine. Barbara will be remembered as a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a faithful friend, who was always present for her family. She cherished time with her children, her grandchildren, and her great-grandchildren. True to her caring nature, her greatest joy came from caring for those she loved. She worked for many years as a bookkeeper. Her career included years working at a local car dealership, and later for a dealership in Bangor, Maine. In the 1970s, she was employed by the Thomas DiZenzo construction company, and her last regular bookkeeping position was with S.L Wadsworth and Sons in Eastport, Maine. Later in life, alongside Bob - her husband of 35+ years, she would assist him with the classes he taught as a State Electrical Inspector, preparing students for both certification and recertification of their electrical licenses. She also continued to share her bookkeeping skills by helping her son, Robert, with his businesses, including his Christmas wreath company and his archery shop. In addition to her work and family life, Barbara's hobby was studying genealogy and tracing the history of her family; a pastime that brought her great pride. She also loved doing crossword puzzles, which became part of her daily routine. Barbara was also a longtime member of Perry Bible Fellowship, the local Baptist church in Perry, Maine, where she found strength, fellowship, and faith throughout her life. She is survived by her three children: Devon Dore and his wife, Mary of Perry, Maine; Tammi Snow and her husband, Dave of China, Maine; and Robert Dore and his wife, Barbara of Perry, Maine. She also leaves behind many grandchildren and great-grandchildren who she loved dearly. Barbara is also survived by her siblings: Bonnie Gordon and her husband, Roger of Arizona; Brenda Clement and her husband, Martin Brooks of Robbinston, Maine; and Brian Clement and his wife, Wendy of Massachusetts. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Clement of Eastport, Maine, as well as her husband of 35+ years, Robert "Bob" Bean, her parents, and other loved ones who passed before her. A viewing for family and friends will be held on Monday September 29th, 2025 from 2:00 pm - 6:00 pm, at Mays Funeral Home in Calais, Maine, to honor her memory. A public graveside ceremony will be held on May 24, 2026 at 2:00 pm, at Bayview cemetery in North Cutler, Maine, where Barbara's ashes will be laid to rest alongside the ashes of her beloved husband, Robert "Bob" Bean, to further celebrate and honor their lives together. Her kindness, strength, and love will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
