Ashley Kilby McPhail

Ashley Kilby McPhail, 37, passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Monday, December 25, 2023, at Gosnell Memorial Hospice House in Scarborough.  Ashley was born in Portland on June 29, 1986.

After graduating from Shead High School, Class of 2004, Ashley attended Eastern Maine Community College.  She later graduated from cosmetology school and specialized as an esthetician.  Ashley worked for Estheva Beauty Boutique in Calais.  Ashley loved traveling and trying different foods.  On March 14, 2023, she married Justin McPhail on Waikiki Beach in Hawaii.  She enjoyed spending time outdoors camping, hiking, going for rides in her side by side, and helping her husband on his lobster boat.  Ashley was family oriented and cherished times spent with her family. 

Ashley was predeceased by her brother Matthew Durand; and grandparents Barry and Joyce Dwelley, and Leroy Kilby.  Surviving are her parents, Valerie and Carroll “Bill” Kilby of Dennysville; husband and best friend Justin McPhail of Perry; four children, Sabrina, Quinlan, Stephen, and Kaylee McPhail; grandmother Jennie Kilby of Edmunds Twp; very special auntie and uncle Holly and David Lewis and their son Josh of East Waterboro; aunts and uncle Cheryl Ramsey of Calais, April and Paul Theriault of Eastport, and Karen Kilby of Swan Lake; father-in-law and mother-in-law Angus and Barbara McPhail of Perry; brother-in-law and sister-in-law Jesse and Debbie McPhail of Perry; nephews Jevan and Jordan McPhail; and numerous cousins whom she loved dearly.
