Arthur Monaghan Prescott, born on January 30, 1952, in Machias, ME, passed away on November 29, 2024, surrounded by the love of his family. Although we mourn the loss of Arthur, we also celebrate his life, his love, and his enduring legacy. Arthur was a beacon of joy and kindness, a man whose life was interwoven with the rich tapestry of his close-knit family and his beloved community of Machiasport, Maine.

Arthur was a man of grand passions and simple pleasures. He spent his earlier years deeply involved in the local industry, tipping, clamming, and raking blueberries. His career later shifted towards the forestry sector, where he served as a heavy equipment operator for various paper companies. Arthur found joy in his work, but his true happiness lay in the time spent with his family and with his german shepard dogs, which he was a lifelong owner. Rascal, his faithful dog was with him until his final day. In 1973, he married the love of his life, Amy Look, and together they built a family filled with love, laughter, and shared adventures.

Arthur is survived by his loving wife Amy, his devoted children, Jason Prescott and wife Megan, Teresa Prescott and fiancé Edward Snider, and his cherished grandchildren Alexis Prescott and fiancé Ryan Murphy, Liam Prescott-Brown, Alayna Prescott-Brown, Caydence Snider, and his great-grandson Arlo James Murphy. Each of them carries a part of Arthur's spirit within them, a legacy of love, resilience, and joy that will continue to inspire future generations. Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, William Sr. and Edith Prescott, and his granddaughter, Sierra Monaghan Prescott.

In keeping with Arthur’s wishes there will be no services. Arrangements are by Mays Funeral Home & Cremation Services.
