Angelina Mary Cook, 88, passed away Saturday, January 7, 2023 at her home surrounded by family. Angelina was born in Astoria Queens, New York, on October 16, 1934, daughter of Giovanni and Maria (Angelini) DiMucci.
After graduating high school, Angelina attended beautician school until marrying her love, Leslie Cook. Once their four children became older, she became a secretary for the Brentwood School District. When Leslie retired, they moved to Calais in 1997. Angelina was very artistic and enjoyed painting, decorating the home, knitting, cooking, gardening, and dancing.
In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her husband of 63 years, Leslie Cook; three sisters, Kay, Rosie, and Margie; two brothers, Jerry and Pete; and her two canine companions Daisy and Maggie. Surviving are her four children, Karen Janhsen and husband Karl of Port Jefferson, NY, Leslie Cook Jr. of Robbinston, Margaret Ross and husband David of Calais, and Suzanne Tartaglia and husband Tom of Smithtown, NY; nine grandchildren, Henry, Brendan, and John Janhsen, John Homan, James Lursen and companion Molly, Scott Lursen and wife Kaylee, Michael Lursen and wife Kayla, and Olivia and Jack Tartaglia; three great-grandchildren, Braun Lursen, Mia Lynn Lursen, and Keighan Russell; a sister Santa Anzalone of Massapequa Park, NY; and several nieces and nephews. Angelina was looking forward to the birth of two great-grandchildren this year.
