Obituary for Alvah Gene Harriman

Grand Lake Stream – Alvah Gene Harriman, 59, died at his home Monday, August 07, 2006. Alvah was born in Calais, October 30, 1946, son of the late Alonzo and Grace (Seamans) Harriman. He served in the U.S. Army Engineers during the Vietnam War and retired after 20 years service. Alvah married Robin Famolare on May 17, 1976 in Belton, TX. After retiring from the Army, Alvah returned to Maine and became a Registered Maine Master Guide for the last 21 years. He was a member of the Maine Professional Guide Assoc., the Grand Lake Stream Guide Assoc.; and Lewy’s Island Lodge #138 A.F. & A.M. Alvah enjoyed the outdoors, fishing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. Besides his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Paul Harriman. Surviving are his loving wife of over 30 years, Robin Harriman; three children, Scott Harriman of Woodland, Kim Harriman and Laura Eldridge of Pembroke, NH, and Cathy Ober and husband John of Woburn, Mass.; two brothers, Frank Alan Harriman and wife Sherrill of Clarksville, TN, and Roger Harriman and fiancé Becky Thornton of Tomah; three grandchildren, McKenna Grace Harriman, Alex Harriman Ober, and Elizabeth Grace Ober; three nephews, Nathan, Taylor, and John Harriman; and long time friend, Bob Upham of Grand Lake Stream.
