Obituary

Indian Township – Pamela Wihpun Nicholas, 63, passed away on February 24, 2020 in Bangor. Pamela was born on January 26, 1957 to Edward and Mary Blanche (Nicholas) Sockabasin. Her family lived in Sipayik for a few years before relocating to Indian Township where she resided for most of her life.

Pamela enjoyed life to its fullest, she had many hobbies and loved to socialize. She was a talented gardener with a green thumb and would sometimes venture off to Grand Lake to pick cranberries, after the harvest she loved cooking and canning her home-grown goods. Pamela also enjoyed hunting, fishing and being outdoors but above all she was most happy when she was with her friends and family. Her grandchildren were so dear to her, she looked forward to company and in the end, when her health was declining, Pamela became a social media butterfly.

She will be remembered by her three sons, Harold Blaney II and his fiancée Stacey Pellitier, Edward Nicholas and his fiancée Leann Beach and Ryan Newell; three grandchildren, Chynna, Georgie and Cooper; three great grandchildren, Gabriel, Kenzee and Grayson; sisters, Regina Petit and Laura King and her husband Gary; brother, Roger Sockabasin; many nieces and nephews, including three special nieces, Natasha, Nicole and Lindsey Berube; special friend Ira and the fathers of her children, George Blaney, Christopher Flynn and Darrell Newell.

Pamela was predeceased by her son, Christopher Blaney and her mother, Blanche Sockabasin.

Friends and family are welcome to visitation at her home, 3 Flowage Rd., Indian Township beginning at 1:00 pm, Thursday, February 27th until 9:00 am, Saturday morning. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Kevin Martin, 10:00 am, Saturday, February 29th at St. Ann’s Parish, Peter Dana Point. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.

Pammy and I went to school together, and I loved her dearly. She was a great friend. She was so friendly and always took the time to speak and let you know what was going on in her life. I am saddened to hear that she has passed. She did love her family so much and how lucky you all were to have her in your life.
