Obituary

Judith Anne “Judy” Antoniello, 80, passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2019 surrounded with love from her family. Judy was born in Calais on March 20, 1939 to Samuel and Nina (Cookson) Saunders. She grew up in Calais and graduated in the Calais High School Class of 1957. She then attended Holy Rosary Business School before starting work at Georgia Pacific where she met her loving husband, Victor M. Antoniello.

Their marriage brought them two sons and countless memories in Woodland, Millinocket, and Monroe, Connecticut. Following her husband’s passing, Judy returned to Calais where she worked in the library at Calais High School, at Dr. Churchill’s office, and at DiCenzo’s construction. She loved being surrounded by people and made friends everywhere she went. She enjoyed traveling, reading, knitting, and keeping up with all of her favorite shows.

Judy was active in the church as part of the Ladies Bible Study, the Missions Collector, and was a past member of the Executive Board. She was also a den mother for Cub Scouts for her boys and many others. She lived every day with a smile and a laugh and taught us to never take ourselves too seriously. You could always count on her to speak her mind.

Judy valued family and friends, including her Boston Terriers, above all else; when she wasn’t out with her friends or playing dominoes with her family, she was talking to them on the phone. She had a special place in her heart for her children and her grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and husband, Judy is predeceased by her sister Nancy Perry, her brother-in-law Charles Antoniello, and her sister-in-law Constance Antoniello.

Judy is survived by her sons Victor and Andrew Antoniello, her daughter-in-law Selena Antoniello, her three grandchildren, Laura, Katie, and Eli Antoniello, her brother Samuel Saunders and his wife Kristi, her brothers-in-law Ernest Perry, Anthony Antoniello, and Mathew Antoniello, her sisters-in-law Nina Walsh, Carmela Gonka, and Christina Tardiff, and countless other nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. She’ll be remembered by all for her love and laughter.

Visitation will be held from 6:00 - 8:00 pm, Saturday, August 31st at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A memorial celebration will begin at 2:00 pm, Sunday, September 1st at Second Baptist Church, 21 Church St., Calais with Pastor Matt Burden officiating. Arrangements by Mays Funeral Home, Calais & Eastport.

Dear Judy, fly high with the angels. I miss your laughter already. It's hard to say good-bye to a great friend; so "it's see you later."
Rest well in the arms of the Lord.
