Obituary for Arthur Benjamin Chisholm

Red Beach, Calais – Arthur Benjamin Chisholm, 89, of Red Beach, died Thursday, November 24, 2005 at a Calais hospital. Arthur was born in Red Beach, September 22, 1916, son of the late George and Anna (Bovard) Chisholm. He served in the U.S. Army 66th Infantry Regiment during WWII in Germany, France, and Austria. After serving in WWII, Arthur served in the Army National Guard for several years. He was a self employed carpenter and a member of the Congregational Church in Red Beach, Sherman Bros. Post 3 American Legion of Calais, and served as Assistant Fire Chief for Calais Fire Dept., Red Beach Station for over 40 years. Arthur enjoyed hunting and fishing with his family and friends. He was proud to have built the Firemen’s Monument in Calais Cemetery. Arthur was predeceased by two brothers and three sisters. Surviving are his wife of over 65 years, Marion (Kyle) Chisholm; three children, Richard Chisholm of Red Beach, Sandra Pulk and husband William of Robbinston, and Bonnie Lyons and husband Robert of Red Beach; 6 grandchildren, Jill Clark and husband Thomas of Woodstock, N.B., William Pulk Jr. and wife Rene of Red Beach, Penny Johnson and husband Gerry of Robbinston, Robert Lyons Jr. and wife Rhonda of Robbinston, Tobbie Ackley and husband Jason of Perry, and Brent Lyons of Red Beach; and ten great-grandchildren, Thomas, Buddy, Ryan, Kyle, Alyssa, Brittany, Christopher, Robbie III, Kersti, and Tyler. Friends may call Sunday, Nov. 27, 6-8 p.m. at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. Funeral services will be held Monday, 11 a.m. in the funeral home with Pastor Bob Hinton officiating. Burial will follow in Red Beach Cemetery with military honors.
