Obituary for Addison Lee Coty

Robbinston – Addison Lee Coty, 18, passed away Tuesday, July 31, 2018 as the result of an automobile accident. Addison was born in Presque Isle on December 23, 1999.

Growing up Addison had a love for sports and the outdoors. While attending Calais High School, he ran cross-country, played soccer, baseball, track & field, and his favorite, basketball. Addison served on the student council and as President for JMG (Jobs for Maine Graduates). He graduated from Calais High School, Class of 2018, and was enrolled at Eastern Maine Community College where he was looking forward to earning his welding degree. Always a hard worker, he currently was working at Mardens in Calais. Addison loved listening to music, hanging out with his many dear friends, hunting and fishing, and was an avid Patriots fan. Addison will be remembered for his caring nature, outgoing personality, sense of humor, and a smile that could light up any room.

He was predeceased by his paternal grandfather, Jeffrey Gagner; and great-grandparents Joyce Hartt, and Avis and Martin Coty. Addison is survived by his parents, Angela and Jesse Demmons of Robbinston; his brother Wyatt Demmons of Robbinston; grandparents Susan and Ricky Roussel of Calais, Mike Coty and companion Dale Staples of Gardiner, Patricia Gagner of Bangor, and MaryEllen and David Boone of Perry; great-grandparents Barbara and Rick Roussell of Calais; aunts and uncles, Andrew Roussel of Calais, Alexis and Anthony Scanzani of Waltham, Claire Coty and Jack Rose of Logansville, GA, and Amber Demmons of Perry; many great-aunts, great-uncles, cousins and numerous friends; and his faithful canine companion Thunder.

Visiting hours will be held 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday, August 3, 2018 at Mays Funeral Home, 26 Church St., Calais. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Father Philip Clement, 10 a.m. Saturday, August 4, 2018 at Immaculate Conception R.C. Church, Calais Ave., Calais. Burial will follow at Ridge Cemetery in Robbinston. In lieu of flowers, donations in Addison’s memory may be made to the Addison Coty Scholarship Fund, c/o Machias Savings Bank, Calais.
