Life Legacy
Eastport – Carolyn Clark (Spear) Speck, 88, passed away Thursday, Dec. 15, 2011 at Maine General Medical Center in Waterville. Carolyn was born in Eastport on April 16, 1923, daughter of the late Raye and Hazel (Shaw) Spear. She was a member of the V.F.W. Auxiliary, American Legion Auxiliary and Magi Chapter Order of the Eastern Star. In addition to her parents, Carolyn was predeceased by her husband Charles Speck; and three children, Sharon (Sparkman) Beadoin, Arthur Sparkman III, and Marcia (Eldred) Inkster. Surviving are her daughter Diana (Sparkman) Pelletier; her sister Rae DiMauro; and many grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Visiting hours will be held 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 18, 2011 at Mays Funeral Home – Flagg Chapel, 72 High St., Eastport. A celebration of Carolyn’s life will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Christ Episcopal Church, 21 Key St., Eastport. Burial will follow in Hillside Cemetery.
