Life Legacy
Lubec – James Walter Huckins, 97, passed away on Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Borderview Rehab & Living Center in Van Buren. James was born in Lubec on August 2, 1911, son of the late James and Philena (Lyons) Huckins. He was employed by the American Can Co. of Lubec for 28 years. James was a member of the Congregational Christian Church of Lubec. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Frances W. Huckins; and his two sons, Thomas and Edward Huckins; a sister, Clara Freidel; and a brother Therman Rice Jr. Surviving are his sister, Alice Cox of Limestone; his niece, Debbie Merrill of Limestone; and two nephews, Gregory Cox and his wife Margie of El Paso, TX, and Fred Freidel and his wife Barbara of Chatam, NY.
