Life Legacy
Perry – Jessie A. Fickett, 81, died Wednesday, September 26, 2007 at Calais Regional Hospital. Jessie was born in Lubec on June 21, 1926, daughter of the late Byron and Laura (McLaughlin) Ackley. For many years, she was employed as a stitcher for Health Tex in Falmouth. Jessie enjoyed gardening and watching the birds and squirrels at her home in Perry. She was predeceased by her husband, Clayton Fickett; her son, Dana Fickett; and a brother, Clyde Ackley. Surviving are her daughter, Sharon Cannon and her husband Stephen of Eastport; four grandchildren, Stevie Cannon and his wife Emily of Bangor, Angela Cannon and her companion Bill Moir of Freeport, Denise Harris and her husband Shawn of Perry and Chrissy Perry and her husband Dennis of Whitneyville; and three great-grandchildren, Max James Cannon, and Jodie and Alex Harris. A graveside service will be held 1 p.m. Saturday at Bayview Cemetery in Perry. Donations in Jessie’s memory may be made to the Eastport Memorial Nursing Home, Residence Activity Account, 23 Boynton St., Eastport, ME 04631.
